HCI Nerd is a digital platform designed for HCI students and UX researchers to support data collection, usability testing, and project management in one place. The goal was to simplify the research process by providing integrated tools within a single platform.

Problem
Many HCI students and researchers rely on multiple tools to conduct research, which leads to: Time-consuming workflows Scattered data across platforms Increased complexity when managing projects Difficulty navigating between different tools This created a need for a unified and user-friendly solution.

My Role
Designed the main interface screens (Login, Home, Projects, etc.) Structured layout and visual hierarchy Applied design principles to ensure clarity and usability Contributed to refining the interface based on usability testing I also collaborated with the team in design decisions and overall experience improvements.

Process
1. Requirements & Planning We identified key system requirements and user needs, focusing on supporting research, usability testing, and project management. 2. Prototyping & UI Design Using Figma, I designed high-fidelity interface screens, structured layouts, and ensured visual clarity and consistency across the platform. 3. Usability Testing We tested the prototype with target users to evaluate navigation, task completion, and overall usability, identifying areas of confusion. 4. Iteration Based on feedback, I refined the UI by improving button clarity, enhancing visual hierarchy, and simplifying interactions.

Challenges
One of the main challenges was balancing functionality with simplicity, especially when designing screens that include multiple actions and data. Another challenge was ensuring that the interface remains clear and intuitive for users with different levels of experience in HCI tools.
