Problem

Users of the Ninja app faced several usability challenges, including: Difficulty finding key sections like groceries Confusing labels such as “Reorder” and “Track Order” Unclear navigation structure Limited filtering options These issues made the user journey longer and sometimes frustrating.

My Role

In this team project, I played a key role in shaping the user experience through: Conducting competitive analysis between Ninja and Nana to identify strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities Designing low-fidelity wireframes to restructure the app’s navigation and layout Contributing to iteration and final UI improvements based on usability testing insights

Process

1. Competitive Analysis I conducted a comparison between Ninja and Nana to evaluate differences in navigation, search, product organization, and overall user experience. This helped identify usability gaps and highlight areas that needed improvement. 2. Wireframing Based on the insights, I designed low-fidelity wireframes to restructure the app’s layout and improve navigation flow, with a focus on clarity and ease of use. 3. Iteration & Final UI After reviewing usability testing results, I contributed to refining the interface by improving unclear labels, simplifying navigation, and enhancing the overall user experience. These iterations led to a more intuitive and user-friendly final design.

We proposed several improvements, including: Renaming unclear labels (e.g., “Track Order” → “Order Status”) Simplifying navigation structure Adding helpful guidance for new users Improving category organization and filters These changes aim to make the app more intuitive, reduce user frustration, and improve overall usability.
